The Butcher’s Grille is a halal up and coming restaurant that is near my house. To understand how this restaurant opened up here in Houston, we need to go to the beginning of its story. The family that founded The Butcher’s Grille is a family called the Saleh family. They were originally from a country called Lebanon. This country is in the Middle East, and is also located on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean sea.
The Butcher’s Grille used to be a not-that-popular butcher shop that had a grill in the back of the shop. The shop was located in Dearborn, Michigan. The small butcher shop then turned into a restaurant. When this led to a lot of success, the owners wanted to expand to Houston because they knew that the food scene here had blossomed and was the destination for a lot of high-quality restaurants. They also wanted to come because they wanted to share their unique halal Lebanese and American palate. They ended up buying a space of about 3500 square feet. This place used to belong to a popular brunch spot known as Dish Society. Today, this place is known as the restaurant The Butcher’s Grille.
Now, let me talk about my experience at The Butcher’s Grille. When I first got there, the walls and the floors were all very clean and nicely decorated. The person who seated me and my family was very nice. Another nice thing was that we got seated very quickly. I thought to myself that their service was already very good. When we sat down, our waiter came and asked us for our drinks. Me, my brother, and my sister all ordered Sprites, while my dad ordered a Diet Coke. There were lots of special mocktails on the menu, so my mom ordered the jalapeno mojito/mocktail. The drinks took about 5 minutes to come to our table.
When the waiter returned, my mom told him that we were ready to order. My brother and I decided that we wanted a type of steak. My mom ordered our steak. My dad ordered a chicken wrap. Our food took about 15-20 minutes to get ready. The steak tasted so good, it was cooked medium and the meat was very tender and juicy. It looked very appetizing, too. The chicken wrap had halal bacon which added a nice salty kick to the wrap. We didn’t get a chance to try dessert but are looking forward to doing that next time we go! Go check out The Butcher’s Grille for your next meal out!
