Inaya Dar is a 9th grader at Stanford Online High School. Her favorite subjects in school are math and physics; she is extremely passionate about art and her favorite mediums are watercolor and charcoal. She is a huge “Swiftie” and her favorite Taylor Swift album is Reputation.
Kazim Rahman
Kazim Rahman is a 6th grader at Spring Branch Middle School. Kazim loves collecting Star Wars Legos that are older than him and cost more than his budget allows. He loves to travel and try the weirdest food he can find, including giant ants and puffer fish!
Emaan Nizami
Emaan Nizami is currently a freshman at Bellaire High School. She aspires to become an entrepreneur and believes that where there’s a will there’s a way. She likes to read and travel. When she’s not doing so, she can be seen with all her cousins! She also loves to eat and enjoys all kinds of foods, especially samosas
Iman Ali is a mom of 3, lawyer and coffee enthusiast. She loves to read, drink coffee and travel with her family. She’s always been passionate about social activism and is excited about contributing to the Houston Crescent!
Ahmad Baig
Ahmad Baig is a 6th grader at Memorial Middle School. Ahmad aspires to become a physician one day. He spends his free time playing soccer, coding, and playing video games with his siblings and friends.
Ilhaam Khwaja is a 9th grader at Memorial High School. She spends a lot of time working on schoolwork, and her favorite subject is math. She enjoys shopping and hanging out with her friends.
Dua Syed
Dua Syed graduated from the University of Houston in 2024 and is pursuing a Master’s in English, with an interest in orientalism, postcolonial theory, Romanticism, and a comparative view of Eastern and Western paradigms. She has written for community newsletters on current events, and enjoys participating in and documenting the student efforts for Palestinian liberation in the Houston area. She enjoys history, writing, reading, and making nature-inspired art in her free time, and hopes to teach at the secondary and post secondary level in the future.
Amina Siddiqui
Amina Siddiqui is an 8th grader at Fort Settlement Middle School. In her spare time she enjoys reading novels, following basketball, and trying out desserts in the kitchen.
Farah Mithani
Farah Mithani, an educator with an M.A. in Special Education from George Washington University and degrees in English and Biology from Houston Baptist University, has spent 13 years teaching in Maryland, Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Houston. She uses art to foster innovative thinking in STEM subjects.
As an artist and photographer, Farah captures compelling narratives that highlight activism and social issues. Her work goes beyond mere images, offering profound statements and calls to action through visual storytelling.
Minah Saravanos is a 7th grader at Harmony Public Schools. She loves science and everything space related. She enjoys reading and writing stories, and also creating art, especially relating to mythical creatures. Her favorite genre is fantasy, and her favorite mediums are graphite, ink, and clay. She loves cats and has a ragdoll named Oreo.
Riva Ahsan
Mother of three, Riva Ahsan, lives to learn new ideas each day from the signs of God on the horizon and in the books. She hopes to pass on this love for endless exploration while remaining firmly rooted to her children. Her home is in the Bay Area, California and wherever her family is. She loves reading and sometimes there are so many words piled up inside of her that they must be spilled out on paper.
Rushna Ahsan
Rushna Ahsan is a high schooler in the Bay Area, California. She enjoys reading, painting, writing, and occasionally bothering her sisters. Expect to see her with her nose in a book if you ever stumble upon her natural habitat. “I Have a Dream for Palestine” was written as part of a school assignment in the hopes of inspiring any infinitesimal tip of the scale in Palestine’s favor against the consecutive years of horror and atrocities.
Amaan Akhtar
Amaan Akhtar, a 14-year-old student at Elkins High School, is a rising star in both theatre and journalism. As a talented student of sports broadcasting, Amaan earned the coveted role as the first ever Junior Reporter for the Houston Rockets after a grueling audition process. In his free time, Amaan enjoys video games, pickleball, and watching Houston sports. Ambitious and driven, he aspires to pursue a career in broadcasting and journalism, leveraging his passion for storytelling and media.
Zaara Khan
Zaara Khan is a 9th grader that’ll be starting her freshman year in high school in the fall. Her hobbies include painting, playing the piano, singing, cooking, and writing. She strives to make an impact in her community and wants to learn more about the lives of different people. Zaara also aspires to become a lawyer so she can fight for the rights of people less privileged.
Jenna Abdelrahim
Jenna Abdelrahim is a Palestinian 7th grader at Everest Academy who likes to write creative stories. She loves watching anime, total drama, and her favorite sport is tennis. She also enjoys art and reading.she has also traveled around the world from Jerusalem to Hawaii. Jenna is always motivated to speak her mind and fight for the truth.
Ibrahim Ahmed
Ibrahim Ahmed is a 5th grader and resides in the Greater Houston Area with his parents and younger brother. His interests include skateboarding, soccer and the Quran. He wants to become a Hafiz and a professional soccer player when he grows up. He feels strongly about the genocide happening in Palestine and continues to do his part by attending the protests and outreach activities in the area.

Sabeen Arianpour is a Millennial Muslim Mom on a never-ending journey of balancing her cultural
and religious values while embracing modernity. On any given day, you can find her sipping on
her lukewarm Dirty Chai (motherhood, right?), while running circles around her toddler and
Goldendoodle. With a background in writing, education, and coaching, Sabeen seamlessly blends
tradition with contemporary life, empowering other moms to navigate their own unique paths with
confidence and grace. Whether she's diving into a deep conversation about cultural identity or
sharing relatable moments from her daily life, Sabeen is all about authenticity, resilience, and
making space for joy and softness in the chaos of motherhood.

Zahra Gokal
Zahra graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Journalism and a double minor in Psychology and English Creative Writing. She has a passion for history, justice, and activism, having been involved in various Muslim and leadership organizations on campus. As a creative, she hopes to help others and express herself through different mediums.
Raasti Kayani
Raasti Kayani is a sixth grader at the Kinkaid School who dreams of pursuing a career in private equity and publishing books of her own. Raasti loves her family and enjoys spending time with them outdoors. As a generation alpha, Raasti loves skincare and had the opportunity to interview Tiffany Masterson, the founder of Drunk Elephant, and was gifted a $600 Drunk Elephant Trunk for free.
